Terms of use

The terms for using Palm Reading Scan: what it is and isn't, who it is for, how to understand a reading, and how the waitlist works. By using the site you agree to them.

Who we are

Palm Reading Scan is run by David Novotny, Bahnhofstrasse 1, 8001 Zurich, Switzerland. You can reach the people behind Palm Reading Scan at hello@palmreadingscan.com.

What this site is

A website about palm reading, a tradition with a long history. Its tools trace the creases on a photo of your hand and measure its proportions, and its readings repeat what that tradition has said about such hands. All of this is offered for entertainment and for reflection. It isn't a statement of fact about you.

No good evidence shows that palm reading predicts anything. A reading can't tell you what will happen, and it shouldn't be the reason for any decision. The methodology page sets out what is measured and what is tradition.

Not advice

Nothing here is medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, or advice about a relationship. That includes the pages on hand creases, moles and finger ratios, and anything a reading says about love, money or work. If you have a concern about your health or a mark on your skin, see a doctor. If you have a legal or money question, ask someone qualified to answer it. If you or someone else is in danger, contact your local emergency services.

Results can be wrong

Traces and measurements are estimates from a photo. They change with light, angle and camera, and a line can be traced in the wrong place, or missed. Two scans of one hand can give different results, including a different hand type. Our test results and their limits are on the methodology page. We make no promise that the site is accurate, complete or always available.

Who may use it

  • You must be 18 or older to use this site.
  • Only scan your own hand, or the hand of someone who is with you and has agreed to it. The two-hand tool is meant for two people using one device together.
  • Don't use a result to judge, rank or make decisions about another person.
  • Don't try to disrupt the site, overload it, or copy it in bulk.

Payments aren't open yet

Pages on this site describe a paid product, the Complete Palm Reading, with its price and contents. It isn't on sale yet, and no payment is taken anywhere on this site. We don't ask for card details, and there are no pre-orders.

If you press a buy button, a screen says we're finishing it and offers to take your email address. The Complete Reading is built, and payments open soon: people on the waitlist are told first. The description and the price on the pricing page are what it will be, and they may change.

How the waitlist works

  • Leaving your email address doesn't buy or reserve anything. It doesn't oblige you or us to anything.
  • We use the address only to tell you if the paid version becomes available. There is no launch date.
  • The site sends no email automatically. A person would have to send that message.
  • To come off the list, write to hello@palmreadingscan.com. The privacy page says what is stored and where.

What we own, and what others do

The text, drawings and code on this site belong to us or our licensors. You may share links, and a result you made for your own use is yours to keep and share. Quotations from old books and studies are credited to their authors, and the sample hand is a licensed photo, credited where it appears. The hand model is Google's MediaPipe, under its Apache 2.0 licence.

Pages link to other sites as sources, and we don't control them. Where we describe another service's prices or terms, that is what its own page said on the date shown, and it may have changed.

Our liability

The free tools are provided as they are, without warranties. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for loss arising from your use of the site or from relying on a reading, a measurement or anything else here. Nothing in these terms limits a right that you have under consumer law and that can't be limited.

Changes and governing law

We may change these terms, and we'll change the date at the top when we do. These terms are governed by the law of the place where the operator named above is established, and its courts have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights you have where you live. Questions go to the contact page.
